VERY IMPORTANT. 8O It looks really long, but that's just 'cause I'm sprite crazy. X3 These really are just your standard rules; nothing special.

Regarding Joining

001. We really try to pride ourselves in being a semi-literate to literate site. We don't require an application or anything before you join, but you will be expected to type at least a paragraph or more for each reply. (: Just FYI.

002. The joining button is below the "Pokemon Secrets" banner, on that little bar. :3 It should say "Register". Should. Haha.

003. Though you do have to wait until your character is accepted to begin roleplaying, feel free to introduction yourself via boards or the Cbox! The Cbox is open for everyone; don't be afraid to say hello. ^^

We are a pretty lax and fun-loving site. Everyone here is very welcoming and helpful, so just ask if you have questions. ^_^

Regarding OOC Posts

001. On the OOC boards and especially the Cbox, please don't spam. And by that I mean post thousands of messages talking to yourself because no one else is on. It really irks people. xD;

002. Advertising is not allowed unless you're an active member of the site.

003. Don't get in fights in OOC... it's just not worth it.

004. Swearing is okay. I'm fairly confident that we've all heard these words before, and if used correctly in context, it should be fine. It would be nice to keep swearing to OOC to a minimum, though. There's not really a need for.. uh... "colorful" swearing out of character.

005. What a moderator says, goes. If I find someone arguing with an admin, they will probably be giving warning, and perhaps later even banned. Same goes for fighting in OOC, etc.

006. Try to not talk in OOC in your roleplay posts too much. If half of your post is just OOC chatting with the other person, then, well... yeah. xD Make as many threads as you want in the Out of Character section, though. ^_^

007. Just as a reminder, inactive members will be removed. In order to keep the site active, we try to do activity checks at least monthly. ^^ As long as you just let us know you're around, you're in no danger of being deleted.

008. Which reminds me. If you're going on vacation or something, try to tell us. D: So we're not all like, "Lolz where did so-and-so go...?" and then delete you. Hah.

Regarding Character Creation

001. There is a maximum of three characters per person. If you are a trainer, your six or whatever pokemon do not count as characters. If they are altered into humans and you create a separate application for them and begin to roleplay them not just as minions at your character's side, then they become a second character. Wild pokemon count as a character, as do team members, etc. Duh. If I am feeling really-really-really nice, I might make an exception. ; D And also, pokemon from all regions are allowed.

002. Be realistic with your character. No "Sinnoh/Hoenn/Kanto/Whatever Champion"s. No "Former Gymleaders". If your character is well-known and famous and stuff, that just takes all of the fun out of it. If your character application has the word "Gym Leader", "Elite Four", "Best", or "Pokemon Master" or any variation of that in it, you shall be shot down.

003. On the same note, no Mary-Sues/Gary-Stus. Your character needs depth. Each trainer may have one legendary, but you must ask me first. If you immediately sign up with your character that owns Darkrai, it is likely that you will be shot down. If you've been here for a month or so and are now making your second character, there is a higher chance that your character shall be accepted. If you make up a cheesy story about rescuing the legendary from a bear trap and shit or the legendary randomly befriending you, you shall be literally shot down.

004. Wild legendaries, however, are perfectly fine, as are Ex-P legendaries. Well, sorta. If you would like to play a legendary of any form, please PM me and ask first. On other notes, other team members are not allowed. They're gone. No Team Rocket/Aqua/Magma/Galactic/Snagem/Whatever members. No being related to members from those groups. They aren't even mentioned, unless they're being laughed at. Also, you are not allowed to be the descendent of a canon character. Ewno. And Pokemorphs... they are allowed. But since people do abuse this character-type, I have created their own section.

005. To create your character, copy the "Character Application" form and fill it out. (: That's all there is to it. And then you sit and wait for one of us lazy admins to get around to accepting it.

Regarding Pokemorphs

001. Pokemorphs are allowed, but not a whole bunch of them. They have been created, but they are old news. There is no "ZOMG WHUT R U?!?!". People may express surprise at these wacked out people, but everyone knows what Pokemorphs are.

002. Pokemorphs are not Pokethropes. They cannot transform into their pokemon. The difference between them and Ex-Ps are their "features"; a Wingull Pokemorph may have white hair and pale skin as well as feathers, wings, etc. While a Wingull Ex-P would have white hair, and perhaps talons for fingers. So try to not get them mixed up. XD Though both can use the attacks of the pokemon they combined with/once were.

003. Likewise, ask about being a legendary Pokemorph. ^_^

Regarding Roleplaying

001. Your character must be accepted before you begin roleplaying. (: After you are moved and accepted, you can post anywhere.

002. Repeat after me. You. Will. Not. Post. One-liners. You do not have to write an essay for each response, it would be preferrable if your response actually gave the other person something to go off of.

003. Your character can be in two places at once. But be logical. If they are in a battle at one place and are getting tortured at another.. well, that doesn't really work, does it?

004. On the subject of, this can be a violent site. Despite the pretty little layout. 8D -pokes- We do allow violence [[ and romance, on that note ]] here. But if your post is just plain gory, put a little warning in the title. We don't usually go overboard with the "buckets of blood" thing, but we have had characters go insane due to torture [[ Hah, Megan. ]], Ex-Ps physically attack humans, trees fall on characters [[ -snort- ]], and characters near death due to severe blood loss. You don't need to ask before torturing a character. If their character waltzes into the Kage HQ, you don't need to ask permission to haul their ass off to the torturing chamber. On a side note, Light doesn't really torture people. They can hold people hostage, but it tends to be Kage that's the more violent sort. But killing of other characters is not allowed, unless you have asked them to or are killing off your own character. Once dead, your character cannot come back to life, come back as a ghost, or whatever. They are gone, and no longer count as a character. So thus you can create another one.

005. Jumping back to the romance thing, we try to keep things PG-13. That means kissing, really. Posts may be suggestive, or even implied, but if you're looking for a site to get your character into bed with someone, then this really isn't it. That may sound stupid, but I have had people ask me - not here - to roleplay with them just so our characters could have sex. And one time it was to make this other real-life person jealous. x___x[

006. No powerplaying or godmoding. That pretty much goes without saying. If you don't know what that is.. well, okay, I'm feeling nice. I'll explain.

Powerplaying:

DONOTDOTHIS: "Charmander used fire spin, sending the flames spiraling towards Chikorita for a direct hit. Chikorita was propelled into the air, landed hard, then gave a frightened cr and ran off."

DOTHIS: "Charmander used fire spin, then braced himself and waited."

Powerplaying is controlling someone else's character and such. It is the Chikorita player's response that controls the outcome of the attack, as well as what his/her character does.

Godmoding:

DONOTDOTHIS: "Caterpie leapt into the air, did a backspin, bounced off of a few trees just for kicks, then landed on the ground and used Earthquake."

DOTHIS: "Caterpie used String Shot."

Godmoding is making your character extremely powerful. Beyond the limits of Poke-reality. A Caterpie cannot use Earthquake, nor can it jump, bounce off of trees, etc.

007. Oh - try not to roleplay with yourself. That's just a pet peeve of mine. Don't create a thread between your two characters. If it's your two characters and someone else, then that's cool. But just your two is annoying. And if someone is five pages into a thread, don't pop your character in there randomly. Usually people will put "TITLE [Open]" or "TITLE [So-and-So]" to clarify who they want to post, but if they haven't but obviously have a mini-plot going on, then just... don't. You'll get ignored.

Regarding Other

001. Staff auditions will be held periodically. Not every day. Only when they're needed. And right now, we have five staff members. That seems cool. So we probably won't need any for quite a while. But in the situation that everyone abandons me and we do, there will be a thread created, as well as requirements for each position. You will have to create an application, but you won't just be judged on what you put there. If your example post is really awesome and long but you post one paragraph everywhere else, then it's blatantly obvious that you just made some really long post to impress us. We're not stupid.

002. We are not afraid to ban people. Seriously. If you're being rude and cussing other people out, we can IP ban you. Yes, I know how. (: I stumbled across it when I was trying to delete people. Ha-HA. If you loose your temper once and explode, we aren't going to jump the gun and ban you. If you apologize and everything smoothes over, then it's fine. Really, it happens to all of us. You'll get a warning the first time it happens. The second time you might receive another warning, or be banned from certain boards/roleplaying/the site, etc. A third time, and you will be banned from the site and removed.

003. Pokemon battles. These will happen, whether between trainers or between Ex-Ps or between trainers and Ex-Ps. Ex-Ps can and will attack humans. Don't say that's not fair. 'Cause it isn't. And we don't care. Wow, I sound really harsh. Let's be realistic; you cannot dodge every attack. Even if you don't want them to hit, some have to. You be as creative as you want using your attacks [[ you are not limited to four; I personally think that is stupid ]], but be sure to stick to the attacks that your pokemon can use. Check serebii for more information. So yeah; if you've been invited to this site, chances are that you already know what's cool and what's not in a pokemon battle. If you keep godmoding/powerplaying/autohitting/being stupid, a moderator will intervene.

And that is it. =D Sorry, no special word or anything. I don't really expect you to read all of this. At least in one sitting. As it applies to you, just pop back and double-check the rules. Being ignorant and accidentally breaking them isn't a penalty. Knowing what they were and breaking them anyway is. But you have probably heard all of this before, so don't sweat the length. ^_^ And FYI, all of the sprites here are of my favorite pokemon. Tehe.
